Effective community engagement has been central to the success of the Better Boscombe initiative under the Towns Fund programme. This process is not only a key requirement of the Towns Fund grant, but it is also aligned with BCP Council's Community Engagement and Consultation Strategy. The strategy is grounded in five core principles: Involved communities, Inclusive communities, Transparency, Simplicity, and Collaboration.
Consultation Milestones
- Summer 2020: A formal six-week consultation was conducted to shape the Boscombe Town Investment Plan.
- 2022: Focused consultations on specific projects were held, informing the development of Business Cases, all of which were submitted and approved by the Government in 2023.

Ongoing Engagement and Delivery
As of October 2024, the focus has shifted from gathering community input to informing residents about ongoing and upcoming projects in Boscombe. These projects include:
- The Woodland Walk Project
- High Street Renovation
- Trader Grant Programme
- Proposed Community Centre
We have been actively sharing updates through various channels:

- Weekly open exhibitions at the Boscombe Engagement Hub
- Woodland Walk events
- High street events via our dedicated Gazebo
- Presentations at school assemblies and local community meetings
- Most recently, we presented at the Boscombe Forum, a local resident group represented on the Towns Fund Board
